NEWS 10/April/'25: Still lovin' that Spanish guitar! AMAZING GRACE
In my news report from 10th August '24 (below) I described how I bought and fixed up a charity shop Spanish guitar, and played CLOSE TO YOU by The Carpenters.
I am in Spain now, so how am I getting on with it... Do I Still love it? Have I learned any more tunes? YES, and YES! I have changed the strings again since last time and it sounds even better than before! I am loving that guitar and plan to learn more pieces to play on it.
In this video I has a go at playing AMAZING GRACE, a gospel favourite of mine. At the begining you can hear a drilling noise where a neighbour was doing a some building work? It was my best take so decided not to do another take....I had already played it 5 times!
Anyway, I am fairly happy with my performance. Hopefully when I do another performance my neighbour will have completed their building work! I Hope you like it :-)
NEWS 30/March/'25: I Love Facebook Memories!
One of the best features of Facebook is the memories which pop up from time to time. Recently a memory 'Popped' of a long forgotten jam session video from 2017 where I was the guest artist. The jam was at the Bricklayers Arms in Bromley. The video was shot on a mobile phone by a friend (Tony Walker) and featured two cover tracks (1). HOOCHI COOCHI MAN (Muddy Waters), and EVIL WAY (Santana).
Mobile phones were not what they are today hence the sound is not great, and video quality is a bit grainy to say the least! Still, I enjoyed watching my younger self, and Tony did a great job by making the video 'Arty and Cinematic'!
My performance was pretty good if I say say so myself! My guitar playing on my Gibson Les Paul was quite fluid and full sounding through my custom red Fender Blues Junior Amp, and I think my vocals were quite bluesy! Many thanks to the guys on drums, bass, and guitar, unfortunately I don't remember their names! :-( The videos are below....What do you think? :-)
NEWS 18/Mar/'25: Lord Street Band ft Jaiiyay
Lead vocalist Jaiiyay just sent me a vid from the gig i did in Canning Town last December with the Lord Street Band. (See News below 7 Dec). A lovely reminder of a fabulous gig, with a generous funky band. Thanks soooo much Jaiiyay, thanks sooooo much Lord street Band!
NEWS 16/Mar/'25: CliveVoe Showcase CD
I was having a bit of a clearout when I stumbled across a long forgotten 4 track demo cd. The cd was recorded in 2012 with my blues band Clyde & The Blue Grooves. My memory of the session was a bit hazy, so I was curious to hear how the session turned out. The Only problem was getting hold of a cd player? Then I remembered,... I used have one stuffed somewhere on my appallingly untidy book shelf....cue much throwing of books, paper, boxes, etc from said shelf, and there it was....my red Samsung cd player/writer! But was it still working, and would it 'talk' to my new Mackbook computer?.....Well fortunately YES! and YES!
But what of the recordings... did they sound any good? did the band play well?... Absolutely YES!, and YES! I sent the recordings to the band members who reminded me that everything was recorded live with no overdubs, and no more than two takes. We are all super happy and proud with what we did back in 2012.
I'am having a focus on blues with a bit of rebrand including my blues name CliveVoe (see below NEWS 5/Feb/25). I think the demo cd will serve as a good showcase for my vocals and guitar. You can check out two of the tracks below BLACK CAT BONE and FIRST TRAIN HOME. Hope you like them! Full demo cd here: www.clivevoe.co.uk/releases
NEWS 5/Feb/'25: CliveVoe ????
My wife and I visited a friend for dinner a few months ago. Out of the blue he called me 'CLIVEVOE' ???? he had never called me that before! When we returned home I said to my wife, 'I quite like the name CLIVEVOE, it sounds sort of Bluesy'? She agreed and said she liked the the name CliveVoe too!
So, in keeping with with my aim to play more live gigs this year, I have decided to concentrate on my first love which is the the blues. Going forward my blues name is CLIVEVOE :-) !
I have a made dedicated CLIVEVOE page on this website, and a separate CLIVEVOE website and Youtube channel. Links here, Web: https://www.clivevoe.co.uk/home and Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@CliveVoe Enjoy!
NEWS 27/Dec/'24: 'Canning Town Sessions' Completed !
Well that was fun, eleven videos completed at our swanky apartment in Canning Town! I am really happy how the videos turned out and how my editing skills, and audio production skills have improved. My singing has improved too. I am pleasantly surprised at the improvement in my guitar playing, something I was not expecting.
Soon we will be leaving our apartment in Canning Town and heading to Spain for a couple months. Hopefully our home in London will be fully repaired when we return. Will I do more videos when I go to Spain? ....Yes, loads of beautiful scenic locations to choose from including beaches! Will need to take a few bits out with me and buy some bits too....Amazon ES is my friend!
A new year is nearly upon us, so my thoughts turn to 2025. Looking back I can see that I have mostly based in my home studio writing and releasing music. However, I am happiest when I am playing live, my gig in Canning Town reminded me how much I have missed playing live (see news below). So playing live will be my focus for 2025.
Anyway, all the best for 2025, I will see you on the other side! :-)
NEWS 7/Dec/'24: 'Canning Town Lord Street Band!
Ok, we are still stuck in an appartment in Canning Town but that can't stop the music! The 'Canning Town Sessions' are going really well (see news below). I have done nine videos so far and I think I will have time to do one more. I have learned so much listening back to my singing and playing. Editing skills have improved too!
I met HARRY DEMMON, a brilliant singer guitarist at the IBIS HOTEL in Canning Town where they have a Thursday guest solo artists. We got chatting and a few days later he messaged me to ask if I would like to play a couple songs with his band LORD STREET at Victoria Dock.
I went along expecting to play a couple songs, but Harry let me play an entire set and I had an absolute blast! LORD STREET are seriously funky & soulful as the video shows. It really cheered me up!
NEWS 20/NOV/'24: 'The Canning Town Sessions'
Well, there I was in August getting all excited about forming a blues band with my pal Manu, when out of the blue my home gets flooded! My wife and I have been in various temporary accommodation since late August and we are still not back in our home! (Hopefully back early next year). We are currently in a really nice apartment in Canning Town....curtesy of our insurers waiting for our home to be repaired.......
Soooooo I'am in Canning Town, I have a guitar, a small practice amp, a microphone, and a laptop. I decided to try to make some high quality videos using our swanky apartment as a suitable backdrop! I have made three vids so far and plan to do more seeing as we will be here for quite a while!
I thought it might fun to try and incorporate some looping of drums in the vids which is something new for me. Thinking of calling the vids 'The Canning Town Sessions' ? Anyway, hope you like my latest vid ROLLING AND TUMBLING from the 'Canning Town Sessions' Enjoy!
NEWS 22/AUG/'24: The Blue Stars Align !
So, I was having a 'spring clean' of my computer hard drive when I came across a long forgotten promo vid for my old band 'CLYDE & THE BLUE GROOVES. It was great to see my old buddies and reminded me how much fun we had & the great music we played.
A few weeks later I got a phone call from BLUE GROOVES bass player MANU, to say he was attending a local pub jam and would I fancy coming along? So of course I said yes! Well, It just like all times as we locked into our familiar telepathic groove!
A few days later he called again and said 'Are you thinking what I'am thinking'? We both laughed and agreed that we need to get back together and play some blues in a band!
The two of us got together shortly afterwards to run through a few tunes, and discuss possible band formats/personnel. Early days, but the old magic is still there, and we excited at the prospect of playing Blues together again. Stay tuned!!! :-)
NEWS 20/AUG/'24: What a picture!
SAIFU is a noted blues guitarist and friend of mine for 15 years now. Although I have not shared a stage with him for a while, we still keep in touch via facebook messenger from time to time. One day I got a message from him to say he had made a sketch of me and posted it on his facebook profile. He asked did I mind, and did I like it?
So I went to his profile page and saw the fabulous colour sketch of my with the the words 'Clyde is the most beautiful soulful brother I know'.
I had a few reactions when I first saw the picture. Firstly, I absolutely loved it! It seemed to capture my essence and my wife Sophia loved it too, (always a good sign!). Secondly, I was quite touched by the kind words. To be described as 'Soulful & beautiful' is just fabulous. Finally, I was amazed to learn that SAIFU is fabulous artist, his facebook profile is all about his artwork, and very little to do with music!
Just goes to show you can be friends with someone for a long time and still not know everything that is significant about them! :-)
NEWS 10th/AUG/'24: New Spanish Guitar recital!
I have always loved the sound of Spanish Nylon guitars. In this vid I describe how i got lucky at charity shop in Spain.
My TV was on the blink and a good friend who works at MABS charity shop said that they a good selection of TVs which I might like to check out?
I think you already know how this ended? Yep, I had a change of plan when I spotted the Spanish guitar. Of I bought it, and fixed it up!
What about a TV you ask? Well, I can live a TV on the blink for a bit longer now that I am engrossed playing my new guitar!
In the vid I had a go at playing CLOSE TO YOU which was a bit hit for Karen Carpenter back in the 1960's. Enjoy!
NEWS 1st/AUG/'24: We're On the up: Mo viewers! Mo subscribers! & for the first time EVER... (drum roll) Shazams!-:) -:)-:)
NEWS 27/June/'24: I really LIKE it !!!!!
I must have posted hundreds of performance vids on Youtube, Insta, TikTok etc. None of them has performed as well as my rendition of BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN by my blues hero ALBERT KING.
Prior to this video my best number of 'Likes' on YouTube was around 450, .....and usually I get a LOT less! BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN is currently at 2144 'Likes' since it was published on June 19th.
Now I know 'Likes' are not everything, and 2144 is a relatively small number compared to many Youtubers, but I cant deny the 'glow' that I am getting from this number, and from the positive comments too.
Interestingly, Its also my best performing video on TikTok. I just wish I knew the 'formula' in this video so I can repeat its success. Perhaps someone out there can tell me why its doing well? !!! :-) :-) :-)
NEWS 26/May/'24: Jacqueline Nicholson used my track LET ME DRY YOUR EYES on her Instagram!
Many thanks to Artist JACQUELINE NICHOLSON for using my track LET ME DRY YOUR EYES to show case her ceramic artwork!
This is the first time that anyone has ever used one of my tracks tracks as a back drop to their Instagram post so I am really chuffed to say the least!

Many thanks to presenter Steve Quirk for playing my track AM I LOSING YOU on COLOURFUL RADIO and for his kind words and support. Steve is a legend in the broadcast music industry and you should 100% check out his brilliant radio shows! https://www.colourful.com/shows/steve
NEWS 19/April/'24: New Music! AM I LOSING YOU?
My latest single AM I LOSING YOU is the last song to be updated from the 'LOST TAPES' recorded in 1990's ( see below NEWS 21st/March/'23). Originally it was a slow song... a bit of a dirge if I'am being honest! I decided to give it an upbeat 'Dance Party' vibe which is completely at odds with the anguished lyrics! :-).
I Have really enjoyed updating the 'LOST TAPES' but now its time to compose something brand new. Interestingly, the only LOST TAPES track to have any guitar on it is LET ME DRY YOUR EYES (see below NEWS 21st/Jan/'23)....Time for some guitar music perhaps ??? :-)
NEWS 19/March/'24: PORTRAIT OF AN INDEPENDENT MUSICIAN
As promised, I have split my interview with Judith Jacobs into 15 Episodes (see below, News 22/Feb/'24). Episode 7 entitled RANDY CRAWFORD can be seen here. It describes my disbelief, when a couple weeks after joining SAY WHAT band, the manager announced that we would be joining RANDY CRAWFORD on her uk tour.....I was totally gobsmacked! The episode series is called PORTRAIT OF AN INDEPENDENT MUSICIAN, and all 15 episodes can be viewed using this link: Episode playlist Enjoy!
NEWS 22/Feb/'24: Concious Radio Interview!
I have always wanted to do a radio interview. When the wonderful DJ Judith Jacobs invited me to do a telephone interview she did not have to ask twice! Originally scheduled for 20mins and a quick play of my track FALLING DEEPER, it ended up being a 50mins wide ranginging interview about my musical life to date, and a plug for another track of mine too! (I LIKE YOUR SMILE). So chuffed and grateful to Judith for having me on her show. I filmed myself being interviewed by Judith, so keep an eye out for that on my Youtube channel in the weeks ahead (YT link on page footer). Thinking of splitting the interview video into episodes posting it as a series? .... eg: (1)Early Years, (2)Claim to fame, (3)Tales of Randy Crawford, (4)The Uni Years, etc ! Stay tuned!!!!
NEWS 10/Feb/'24: Colorful Radio Airplay Listening Party!
Was great to have airplay for my track FALLING DEEPER on COLOURFUL RADIO with DJ Steve Quirk. Iphones at the ready, I was in Spain with friends when my track came on the radio. So it became a bit of a listening party celebration in the sunshine. Many thanks to Steve Quirk for playing my track, and for his very kind words. Life doesn't get much better than this! :-)
NEWS 27/Jan/'24: Solar Radio Airplay!!!
Getting airplay is sooooo hard! So I was chuffed when DJ Gary Spence emailed to say that he loved my track FALLING DEEPER and would be playing it on his Thurday afternoon show! I duly tuned in and only had to wait a few munutes before my track was played along with some very kind words. The show was great so I carried on listening long after my track was played. Thank you DJ Gary!
Still going to reach out to more radio stations and really try and get some momentum going behing FALLING DEEPER....It is after all possibly my finest release to date! :-)
NEWS 1st/Jan/'24: Happy New Year!

Many thanks for supporting my musical endeavours in '23 and I wish you a happy peaceful and prosperous new year. New music coming soon! xx
News 17/Dec/'23: Happy Small Beer!
After a long break I started to release original music in 2022. My first 3 releases were HEAVENS ABOVE, followed by MY ANGELS DANCE and then LET ME DRY YOUR EYES.
None of this was done for money, but it disappointing to see sluggish figures after so much effort. Periodically I would check my streams, but I did so less frequently as the monthes went by. I badly wanted to reach 1000 streams as a milestone.
Just before Xmas I opened my streaming dashboard after a long while, and was delighted to see that I had exceeded my milestone target of 1000 streams! :-)
Some might say 1000 streams over three singles and two years is pretty 'small beer' ......and of course they are right. But you know what? I am happy and proud of my aceivement given that I have zero budget, no industry contacts, and no team. So I am going to celebrate and enjoy my 'small beer' and keep on creating and releasing original music!
NEWS 8th/Nov/'23: FALLING DEEPER Radio Play!
Last Sunday 5th Nov my latest release FALLING DEEPER was featured on Radio 614, an internet radio station based in Ohio USA. I reached out to them about 4 months ago and forgot all about it. Then a week ago I got a message saying my track was to be included on their Cultural Popcorn Show. Of course I was thrilled since nothing like this has ever happened to my music before!!!
Needless to say, I tuned in to the live broadcast and did a little celebratory song & dance routine as one does!.... Can you tell that I was happy??? -:) -:) -;) Wife Sophia filmed my routine and enjoyed it too, thanks babes! xx
NEWS 9th/Oct/'23: OMG, Can it be true?... Yes, he is back!!!
Have not been to the iconic 'Aint Nothin But' blues bar in London Soho since before the pandemic. I was a 'Regular' and spent many a Sunday afternoon jamming with my friends. Last Weekend I got a call from an old buddy inviting my play on a new venture of his. Not a regular jam, but a session where musicians appear by invite only. It was great to meet some of my old pals and get to play an extended set of 4 songs. As Arnie said " I'll be back" !

Anyway, I have made a lyric video if you would like to sing along? :-) No SPANISH language count down at the start...unlike my last release? !!! News: 1st/Sept/'23: I Love Open Mics!
Never been a big fan of open mic sessions... maybe I have just been unlucky? now that has changed! When my local pub 5mins down the road advertised they were starting open mic sessions curiosity got the better of me! I rolled up for the very first session and had a blast! The sound was great, the audience attentive, and the host super supportive. This is what I have been missing for sooo long, and I'am now introduced as 'a regular', just goes to show! Here is a vid of me backing a singer called COCOA performing I'D RATHER GO BLIND by Etta James. Enjoy! -:)

News 14/Apri/'23: New Music LIFE IN THE GHETTO
In the early 90s I moved to Southhall in West London where I formed a band with some friends. I was still fresh out of Uni, and was shocked by the deprivation I saw, and the devastating history of Southall following protests on 23rd April 1979. I was inspired to write LIFE IN THE GHETTO.
Watching the news now, I am struck by how the themes I explored back in the 90s, have come full circle. Education, employment, safety, housing. Sad to say, nothing seems to have changed in our inner cities.
NEWS 10th/April/'23:: Pics from our awesome gig at THE EXCHANGE last Saturday 8th April. Sophia and I had a fabulous time and made loads of friends. I think Its safe to say we will be back!

NEWS 21st/March/'23: The Lost Tapes...
In the early 90's (when I had hair! ) I deposited some tapes of my original music with my bank for safe keeping. In January of this year I received a letter from the bank asking me if I wanted the tapes returned to me as they no longer do a holding service. After some thought I said yes, send them to me. I am so glad I did! Three Observations:-
1. The degradation of the tapes means the audio quality is poor.
2. My vocal range was soooo high compared to now!
3. I love songs, some of which I had forgotten all about!
Soooo, I now have 5 songs which I am currently re working with a view to releasing this year. One of the songs LIFE IN THE GHETTO is finished and will be released once the artwork is done.
Many thanks to my brothers and sisters from the band UNIKUE for laying down the original grooves on the tapes back in the day.
NEWS 14th/Feb/'23: VALENTINES DAY!
Been trying to learn Close To You as an instrumental on guitar for a while now. The song was a big hit for The Carpenters in the 60's. I Have alsways loved that song and the plaintive vocals of Karen Carpenter. As you may know Bert Bacharach who wrote the song died earlier this month. I thought It was timely to present my interpretation of such a romantic song on Valentines day, and in celebration of the life and work of Bert Bacharach. Hope you like it!
NEWS 21st/Jan/'23: LYRIC VIDEO LET ME DRY YOUR EYES

NEWS 11th/Dec/'22: Promo Video Mashup!
As an independent artist I have no money to get fancy promo videos made for me. Sooo, I have had to make my own using IOS apps, Mac apps, free software, and my aging Iphone! They say 'Necessity is the mother of invention' and boy have I had to be inventive, but it's been fun. Check my 'Promo Video Mashup' on the left!

This track is available in Stereo and Dolby Atmos.
News 17/Mar/'22: New Music! HEAVENS ABOVE
HEAVENS ABOVE is Clyde's first proper foray into the world or AMBIENT MUSIC (How I hate music labels!). An instrumental track, different from the sort of stuff I usually do. But confession.. 'Ambient Music' was a guilty secret of mine for a very long time! The track can be stream on all streaming platforms.
You can read the back story of HEAVENS ABOVE below.
This track is available in Stereo and Dolby Atmos.
News 17/Mar/'22: HEAVENS ABOVE OFFICIAL VIDEO
MOVE OVER SCORSESE! My wife and I are rugular visitors to the SE coast of Murcia in Spain where the scenery and cloud formations are often stunning. When I decided to make an Official Video I thought pictures from our trips would be perfect for HEAVENS ABOVE. What do you think, should Scorsese worry? :-)
News 17/Mar/'22: HEAVENS ABOVE: DOLBY ATMOS MIX:
Surround sound systems like DOLBY ATMOS have been in cinemas for a while now. I have always fantasied about such a system in my ‘man cave’ …dream on! Now some streaming services like APPLE MUSIC are issuing music which can be experienced in DOLBY ATMOS using appropriate ear buds …
When I started writing HEAVENS ABOVE earlier this year the software program I use (Logic Pro x) was updated to included the facility to record & mix in DOLBY ATMOS. After loads of research I thought I would give a go! The learning curve was quite steep but I did it, HEAVENS ABOVE is available both in STEREO and DOLBY ATMOS surround sound. How cool is that!!
If you stream with APPLE MUSIC, AMAZON MUSIC, or TIDAL, you can listen to HEAVENS ABOVE in glorious DOLBY ATMOS using appropriate ear buds. The experience is stella even if I say so myself, with instruments appearing to be all around and above! I have had loads of fun making HEAVENS ABOVE & plan to do more ‘Ambient’ tracks so stay tuned!!!
News 17/Mar/'22: The 'Violin like' lead guitar lines on HEAVENS ABOVE
The Violin Lead guitar was actually very easy to do! It consisted of a VOLUME PEDAL, DISTORTION, and STEREO DELAY and thats it! This simple signal chain produced a huge sound which complemented the track perfectly! The Boss Katana amp was connected to my computer running LOGIC PRO for audio recording.
News 17/Mar/'22: HEAVENS ABOVE: THAT PICTURE!
When I finished recording HEAVENS ABOVE my thoughts turned to album artwork. My good friend and brilliant artist Rob Thom agreed to do the artwork & asked for suitable picture. I already had a picture in mind taken ten yrs ago!
My wife & I have been regular visitors to the SE coast of Mucia in Spain for many yrs now, & have taken literally 100s of photos of this beautiful part of Spain. We regularly stroll the MAR MENOR beach in the day, but one evening we strolled at sunset and had a pit stop at a cafe.
The lighting and view was simply magical as you can see. Cloudy moonlight reflecting off the water, and a beach that looked like the surface of the moon, all taken with an iPhone. The perfect artwork picture for HEAVENS ABOVE!
News 17/Mar/'22: THANK YOU!
Thank you for taking the time to read this page, I know how busy you are! If you like what you have seen and heard I would be grateful if you could let others know about my work. Also many thanks if you have streamed or downloaded any of my tracks.
Also thanks to those of you that have attended a gig! :-)
Help Me!!!!
As you may be aware, streaming services like Spotify, & Apple pay very little indeed to independent artists like myself. The best way to support independent artists is to download their music on BANDCAMP. In my case you can pay whatever you think my music is worth! Thank you :-)
You can listen to my tracks and download them from the RELEASED MUSIC page of this website.
